Citizen Review Board
The Citizen Review Board reviews cases of children and youth placed in foster care due to their parents' struggles with addiction, mental health, homelessness and domestic violence as well as physical and sexual abuse. Volunteers commit to one day a month to review these cases. Volunteers review case materials electronically and at their convenience to conduct reviews to ensure the safety of wellbeing of children and youth. Volunteers interact with children/youth and/or their attorneys, foster parents, biological parents and/or their attorneys, Court Appointed Special Advocates as well as other professionals. Volunteers identify services needs for children/youth and/or their parents and make findings and recommendations to Child Welfare and the Courts to address those concerns.
